DG Cable for Microinverters — 12/2 Flat THHN/PVC 600V | In Stock
Photovoltaic Cable LLC supplies 12/2 flat DG cable rated at 600V — the standard AC output cable for microinverter solar installations. Designed for Enphase and similar microinverter systems, this flat two-conductor cable handles the AC wiring from microinverter units to the junction box and is NEC compliant for exposed rooftop runs. In stock and ships same or next business day from LaPorte, Texas and Rancho Dominguez, California.

What is DG cable and when do you need it?
DG (Distributed Generation) flat cable is the AC output wiring used in microinverter solar installations. Unlike string inverter systems that use DC PV wire from panels to a central inverter, microinverter systems convert DC to AC at each panel — requiring an AC cable to carry the output from each unit to the junction box or branch circuit.
The flat profile of DG cable allows it to route cleanly between the panel and the roof surface without creating pressure points or abrasion — a key requirement for rooftop installations where cables must lay flat and remain weatherproof for 25+ years.
Recommended applications
- AC output wiring for Enphase microinverters
- Distributed generation solar installations (microinverter systems)
- Branch circuit wiring from microinverter trunk cable connectors to junction boxes
- Residential rooftop solar installations with per-panel microinverters
- NEC-compliant rooftop AC cable runs
DG cable vs PV wire — key difference
DG flat cable carries AC current from microinverter output to the branch circuit. UL4703 PV wire carries DC current from solar panels to a string inverter. If your system uses microinverters (one inverter per panel), you need DG cable. If your system uses a central string inverter, you need UL4703 PV wire.
